It's only okay to lie to protect someone's feelings

Twain writes in "On The Decay Of The Art Of Lying" that judicious lying is not only acceptable, but preferred. Everyone lies constantly. It is justified when a person lies with someone else's interests at heart.

Introductions, Statements of Purpose, Prospectii

First, I have no problem with making up words. This is not arrogance. It is whimsy.

Second, my name is not wbl Clyde, but, of course, it is. I'm a writer, almost. I'm finishing up school now, and once I'm no longer a student, my self-distinction will fall to writer.

Third, this is The Catalogue, spelled the way I prefer. This isn't a log (its a blog!) [shut up parentheses], but it is a logue. For now, a monologue, but still a catalog.

Fourth, I will be cataloging the events leading up to and following my transition into writerhood.

Seventh, I think conventions exist to be used for practice and disregarded for power.

Anyway, I write some different types of things. Rarely poetry, sometimes nonfiction, often fiction, commonly short stories, mostly stageplays, sparingly screenplays. I've been a theater hobbyist/enthusiast for six years now, and this is responsible for the direction of most of my writing. Just today, just tonight even, I thought my computer died. My hope is that if this fear is actually realized someday, this blog will serve as some semblance of a legacy, however paltry.

I'll be peppering this with links to various websites, some that contain my work, some that contain my inspiration, some that I think are just gosh darn fun.

Lots of writers have lots of different reasons for writing. I might have a few things to say, but really, I just want you to enjoy.
